Editorial Policy
Trust comes from process, not from confidence. This page explains exactly how figures are verified, how you can report an error, and how we keep rankings free of commercial pressure.
Our editorial principles
We aggregate public virtual-card data, show where every figure comes from, and label its evidence tier. We do not fabricate ratings or user reviews, we do not call any card the “best,” and our comparisons stay independent of any commission an issuer might pay. The point of this site is transparency, not persuasion.
How data is verified
Source capture. Fees, KYC rules and card networks are taken from each issuer's own published pages, with the source URL kept on file. Tiered evidence. Each number is tagged issuer-documented, modelled, or editorial and the tier is shown on the page. Checkout log. We have logged 91,909 checkout attempts with 65,899 cleared; 1,474 come from issuer documentation and 90,435 are modelled per BIN range. We never claim “we tested” or “our own charges” — the modelled figures are inferences, stated as such. Re-check cadence. When an issuer changes published terms we re-verify, date-stamp the entry, and record it in the changelog.
How corrections work
Send a note to research@vccfinder.com with the page, the figure, and a source. We read every report. Each correction is logged as: date, field changed, old value → new value, and the source — then published in the changelog so the history stays visible. We aim to acknowledge within 7 days and to correct a verified error within 30 days.
How we handle conflicting sources
When two sources disagree, the issuer's own published documentation is treated as primary and the discrepancy is noted on the page. Where a figure is modelled and the underlying sources are thin, we flag lower confidence rather than present a false sense of precision. We would rather say “unknown” than guess.
How rankings stay independent
Inclusion is not for sale, and no issuer can edit a verdict after publication. Affiliate links are tagged as sponsored and cannot move a score, a rating, or the order in which cards appear. The mechanics are documented in our methodology.
The editorial team
VCCFinder is a one-person project. The editor is Height Gao, Founder & Lead Editor — the byline on every brand review. There is no separate board, sales desk, or marketing department. We state this plainly because a comparison site that hides who writes it is asking to be trusted on nothing; more on the about page.
Fees, limits and terms quoted on this page are as published by the issuer and can change at any time — verify with the issuer before applying.
