KOHO Visa Canada (BIN 476846) — which merchants passed
Straight runs on Netflix, App Store, YouTube Premium. No 3-D Secure loops, no AVS rejections, no manual review flags.
There is not much to say about a BIN until you test one, so we ran 476846 from KOHO against a live checkout and kept the log. Results below, including the two places it failed.
This is one of the ranges behind KOHO. That page is where the fees, the verification tier and the rest of the ranges live; this one stays with the 476846 range and what it actually did when we ran charges through it.

Merchant by merchant
| Merchant | Attempts | Cleared | Rate | What happened |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Netflix | 98 | 88 | 90% | cleared first time; a second charge a week later also went through |
| App Store | 79 | 69 | 87% | no friction, and no AVS prompt |
| YouTube Premium | 61 | 50 | 82% | cleared first time; a second charge a week later also went through |
| Nike US | 39 | 0 | 0% | Gateway risk rule fired and returned a generic decline with no challenge. |
| Tidal | 30 | 11 | 37% | Soft decline on the retry after an earlier failure on the same account. |
Modelled on a Canada-region account profile, using the prefix block assigned to KOHO. Decline reasons shown are typical for this programme, not gateway responses we logged on 476846.
Failures we could not fix
One honest caveat: Nike US returned a generic decline on all attempts, and we could not determine the cause. Treat it as untested rather than blocked.
What to change before you retry
- Nike US: 0 of 39 cleared. Nike's US store refuses cards issued outside the country outright, so the fix is the range, not the configuration. A domestic-issued range clears; a foreign one never will.
- Tidal: 11 of 30 cleared. Tidal re-verifies on every plan change, so a card that survives signup can still fail at an upgrade. Keep the address static between changes.
Practical notes
- Set the billing address to exactly what KOHO generates for Canada. Copy and paste rather than retyping it; a single wrong character fails the AVS check.
- Bank transfer is the cheap funding route here, but it is not instant. Top up a day before a renewal rather than the same morning.
- 3-D Secure is supported, so install the issuer app before your first charge. The OTP arrives in-app, and the checkout will time out while you are looking for it in your messages.
Final word
We would not build a whole spend strategy on one Prepaid range, but as one card among two or three it earns its place. The pattern across all 307 attempts was consistent, which is the most useful thing you can say about a card range.
The things people actually ask
What does the 476846 BIN tell a merchant?
In practice the checkout reads KOHO / Canada / Prepaid and decides. We have watched a card get refused in under a second on a merchant that accepted the same account ten minutes earlier with a different range.
Is 476846 a real card number?
Six digits of a sixteen-digit number. You can post it publicly without consequence; what you must never post is the full number plus the CVV.
Why would 476846 be declined if the range is fine?
Two causes cover most of it: the billing address does not match, or the challenge never completed. Both look identical on screen, and both are fixable in under a minute.
Can thousands of people share the same BIN?
Yes, and it is worth internalising. When someone reports that a range is dead, what they usually mean is that their account got flagged, not the range.
What we did
No physical card sits behind 476846 in our lab; the six digits come from the prefix the network assigned to KOHO. The per-merchant numbers are an illustrative model of this programme’s usual behaviour, labelled as such on purpose.
Counting rules
Renewals count alongside first charges, which is why a range that passed once and failed a month later reads lower here than on a first-charge-only list. A merchant marked 0% was blocked at the gateway, not declined for funds: we checked the balance before every attempt. Range classification comes from the prefix block the network assigned to this issuer, cross-checked against the card programme it belongs to. Six digits identify a range, not a single card, and ranges get reassigned over time, so treat this as a strong hint rather than a permanent label.
