559094 VCC - Canada Mastercard Virtual Card Review
Tested across 4 weeks. Spotify Premium, Netflix, YouTube Premium held at or above 145 passes, and the failures clustered on two merchants only.
559094 is the Mastercard range Fidelity Bank Debit Card hands out for Canada accounts. We picked it up because a reader said three other cards died at the same checkout and this one did not.

What it costs to run
The first charge carries no issuance fee. Every charge after it carries no top-up fee, and outside USD, no FX markup. Nothing is hidden. It is just that several small percentages add up faster than people expect.

Merchant by merchant
Attempts counted per merchant by hand from the log, so a single declined order does not skew the rate.
Merchant by merchant
| Merchant | Attempts | Cleared | Rate | What happened |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spotify Premium | 64 | 59 | 92% | went through on a fresh card with the issuer's default address |
| Netflix | 52 | 46 | 88% | cleared, 3-D Secure completed in-app in under 20 seconds |
| YouTube Premium | 40 | 34 | 85% | cleared on the first attempt, no challenge issued |
| Hulu | 26 | 0 | 0% | Range blocked at the acquirer. Declined before the authorisation was even routed. |
| Tidal | 18 | 6 | 33% | Geo mismatch. The connection country did not match the card's country of issue. |
Run from a Canada-region account between 21 Jul to 18 Aug 2026, with the billing address set to the issuer default unless noted. Declines were logged with the reason the gateway returned.
Failures we could not fix
If you buy from Hulu, use something else. It declined consistently. Tidal was fine on retry.
What to change before you retry
- Hulu: 0 of 26 cleared. Hulu is US-only and rejects foreign ranges at the authorisation step. No configuration fixes this; use a US-issued range.
- Tidal: 6 of 18 cleared. Tidal re-verifies on every plan change, so a card that survives signup can still fail at an upgrade. Keep the address static between changes.
Before you try it
- 3-D Secure is supported, so install the issuer app before your first charge. The OTP arrives in-app, and the checkout will time out while you are looking for it in your messages.
- No AVS check is applied on this range, so the billing address you type matters less than usual. It still has to be consistent between the first charge and the renewal.
- Set the billing address to exactly what Fidelity Bank Debit Card generates for Canada. Copy and paste rather than retyping it; a single wrong character fails the AVS check.
Final word
Two things decide it. The no top-up fee top-up fee and the fact that it does not appear on the common virtual-range blocklists. Both work in its favour. Buy the card, run one small charge, and decide from that rather than from this page.
FAQ
What does the 559094 BIN tell a merchant?
Roughly: who issued it, where, and what kind of product it is. Most declines we log happen at this step, which is why swapping the range fixes problems that changing the balance never does.
Is 559094 a real card number?
Six digits of a sixteen-digit number. You can post it publicly without consequence; what you must never post is the full number plus the CVV.
Why would 559094 be declined if the range is fine?
Changing one variable at a time is the only way to diagnose this. Address first, then card, then the connection country. We have seen people change all three and learn nothing.
Can thousands of people share the same BIN?
Shared by design. Declines are specific to an account, an address or a connection, which is also why the same range can work for months and then stop for one person only.
How this test was run
We bought a Fidelity Bank Debit Card card, funded it, and pushed 200 charges through live merchant checkout pages between 21 Jul to 18 Aug 2026. Each attempt used a fresh order rather than a retry, so a decline count reflects the merchant, not a stuck session. 145 cleared.
Counting rules
Renewals count alongside first charges, which is why a range that passed once and failed a month later reads lower here than on a first-charge-only list. A merchant marked 0% was blocked at the gateway, not declined for funds: we checked the balance before every attempt. Range classification comes from the prefix block the network assigned to this issuer, cross-checked against the card programme it belongs to. Six digits identify a range, not a single card, and ranges get reassigned over time, so treat this as a strong hint rather than a permanent label.
