Using a Sezzle Virtual Card In-Store
Sezzle in-store purchases run through a single-use card added to Apple Pay or Google Pay. One active in-store card at a time.
In store, the Sezzle card lives in your phone's wallet rather than on a screen you copy from.
Setting it up
Open the Sezzle app, go to the Wallet tab and choose the in-store option. Enter your order total including tax and tip, review the loan terms and any service fee, then create the card. The Add to Wallet button appears below the card image, and the first time you will add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay manually.
After that first setup, new in-store cards are added to your wallet automatically, which is what makes repeat visits quick.
Paying and the rules that apply
At the register, unlock your phone and tap at the contactless terminal like any wallet card. Only one active in-store card can be used at a time, and each in-store purchase needs a new card, so create the next one when the previous purchase is done.
You are not charged until you actually make a purchase. The down payment is charged first, followed by installments every two weeks until the order is paid off.
Returns and how Atlas compares
Returns are the pleasant surprise: at select merchants including Target, you can process an in-store return by tapping the same wallet card at the terminal, and the refund flows back to your Sezzle order. Unused portions of a card are reconciled back to you within about a week.
Atlas takes a different approach to the same problem. Its standard virtual card can be regenerated at any time and reused, while its disposable card closes automatically after 24 hours, and both work in store through a wallet. Sezzle's card is strictly one purchase per card.
