How to use the Capital One virtual card

Locking and unlocking
If a card is lost or you spot a suspicious charge, open the Capital One app and lock the card - new charges stop, recurring ones you approved may still post. Unlock the same way when you are ready. Locking the main card does not always close merchant virtual numbers, so close those separately if needed.
Before the card arrives
Some Capital One cards let you use a virtual number or tap-to-pay in a wallet before the physical card ships. If the app offers "add to wallet", you can spend with the virtual number while you wait for the plastic.
