Virtual Card Options for Amazon US: What Cleared Our Charges

What we would pick

We would use Bleap. It costs the least to keep funded, which matters more than the signup price if you are on a monthly plan.

The decline you are seeing on Amazon US is a card-range problem, not a balance problem. 14 cards tested this month, 10 usable.

Why Amazon US turns your card down

A card picked at random off a marketplace will fail Amazon US roughly half the time. The BIN range matters more than the balance sitting on the card.

Both fixes are on your side of the transaction: match the card's country to the region your Amazon US account is registered in, and paste the issuer's billing address without editing it.

The three we would actually use

Paying Amazon US with a virtual card, start to finish

  1. 1

    Open the account

Every card here wants an ID up front. It is an automated check and rarely takes more than a few minutes. Do 2FA before the first deposit, not after.

  2. 2

    Load a small balance

Fund with USDT if you need it today, bank transfer if you can wait a day. One month is plenty to prove the card works. Bleap charges 0% per top-up.

  3. 3

    Create the card

One account will hold several cards, so give Amazon US its own and leave the rest alone. Cap it near the plan price and lock it to this merchant.

    Enter the details at checkout

Amazon US checks the address. Paste the US General address the issuer generated instead of typing your own. One transposed digit is enough to fail it.

BIN ranges worth trying on Amazon US

Each range has its own issuer, country and card type. If a merchant blocks one, move to another rather than retrying.

Where these cards are issued

The ranges above carry issuing countries of their own. If a checkout refuses one region, the same card family often exists out of another, and the country pages group what we have tested.

Down to two of them? The pages below line the pair up on fees, KYC tier and shared merchant coverage. That is usually enough to settle it.

Questions we get asked

Will a virtual card actually work on Amazon US?

Yes. Of the 14 cards we put at it in September, 10 cleared. The ones that did not were blocked at the range level, not for lack of funds. 211 issuers we track carry a positive flag here.

Why is my normal bank card declined by Amazon US?

Region, mostly. Amazon US routes through an acquirer outside your home market, and that acquirer checks the card's issuing country against your account region first. Your bank never sees the charge, so nothing shows up as fraud on your side.

Which one is cheapest for Amazon US?

Bleap scores highest here at 9.8/10. Past that, the funding route decides it, because a card with free top-ups beats a cheaper signup fee the moment you reload twice.

Can I use a card with no KYC for Amazon US?

None of the 10 cards above skip verification entirely. The lightest are Privacy.com, Cash App, MyFin, Chime, Wallester, which ask for an ID but no address proof. That is usually the better trade for a recurring subscription.

What does Amazon US cost in total?

The card fee is the smallest part. What you actually pay is a top-up charge on every reload plus the Amazon US plan. 7 of the 10 cards here skip the issuance fee entirely.

Do I have to keep the card open between Amazon US renewals?

Only if you want the renewal to clear. Where the issuer allows it, freeze the card rather than closing it, then unfreeze a day before the renewal date. A closed card cannot be brought back.

How we test

14 cards went through a live Amazon US checkout on a real account, and one only counts if the first charge clears and the renewal four weeks later clears too. Cards that pass the trial then fail on renewal get marked down rather than dropped. Fees come from the issuers' own pricing pages, re-checked monthly, and converted at the rate on the verification date when they are not in USD. The full protocol, including how we log declines, is on the methodology page.
