GoDaddy and Virtual Cards: Tested Options

What we would pick

Best result for us: Bleap, COCA, Mountain Wolf. Two of the three also passed a renewal charge four weeks later.

If you have already spent an afternoon retrying the same card on GoDaddy, stop. It is almost always the same three causes, and a virtual card fixes two of them.

Why GoDaddy turns your card down

Your bank is not blocking anything, the merchant is. GoDaddy sees a card range it does not like and issues a soft decline before the authorization ever reaches your issuer. That is why you get no fraud alert and no explanation.

Both fixes are on your side of the transaction: match the card's country to the region your GoDaddy account is registered in, and paste the issuer's billing address without editing it.

The three we would actually use

Paying GoDaddy with a virtual card, start to finish

  1. 1

    Open the account

All 3 ask for an ID before the first card exists. The check is automated and usually clears in minutes. Turn on 2FA before you fund anything.

  2. 2

    Load a small balance

USDT and bank transfer both work. Crypto lands in minutes; a transfer is cheaper but can sit overnight. Load one month first. Bleap charges 0% per top-up.

  3. 3

    Create the card

One account will hold several cards, so give GoDaddy its own and leave the rest alone. Cap it near the plan price and lock it to this merchant.

  4. 4

    Enter the details at checkout

GoDaddy does not run AVS on these cards, so it is just the card details. Paste them anyway; mistyping the number is indistinguishable from being blocked.

The OTP lands in the issuer app. Approve it, then check the account, because a charge can sit in pending after the bank has already said yes.

BIN ranges worth trying on GoDaddy

Each range has its own issuer, country and card type. If a merchant blocks one, move to another rather than retrying.

Where these cards are issued

Issuing country matters as much as the brand here. Where one region is refused, another is often accepted, so these pages group what we have tested by where the card was issued.

If two cards on this page look close, open the matchup below. It lines up the fees, the verification tier and the shared merchant coverage side by side.

Questions we get asked

Will a virtual card actually work on GoDaddy?

Yes. Of the 28 cards we put at it in September, 10 cleared. The ones that did not were blocked at the range level, not for lack of funds. 211 issuers we track carry a positive flag here.

Why is my normal bank card declined by GoDaddy?

Your bank is not rejecting anything. GoDaddy uses an overseas acquirer that screens the card's country against your account region up front. The charge is dropped before it reaches your bank, which is why there is no alert to appeal.

Which one is cheapest for GoDaddy?

Bleap comes out on top at 9.8 out of 10. After that it depends on how you fund the card. A free top-up beats a cheaper signup fee the moment you keep it running past the first month.

Can I use a card with no KYC for GoDaddy?

One of the 10 cards above is listed as No KYC: Paycek. It works, but it declines more often and the fees are worse than an issuer that takes an ID.

What does GoDaddy cost in total?

Three things add up: the one-off card fee, a top-up fee each time you fund, and the GoDaddy plan itself. On this page 7 of the 10 cards cost nothing to create. Spend limits and freezing are free everywhere.

Do I have to keep the card open between GoDaddy renewals?

Only if you want the renewal to clear. Where the issuer allows it, freeze the card rather than closing it, then unfreeze a day before the renewal date. A closed card cannot be brought back.

How we test

28 cards went through a live GoDaddy checkout on a real account, and one only counts if the first charge clears and the renewal four weeks later clears too. Cards that pass the trial then fail on renewal get marked down rather than dropped. Fees come from the issuers' own pricing pages, re-checked monthly, and converted at the rate on the verification date when they are not in USD. The full protocol, including how we log declines, is on the methodology page.
