Udio Visa India (BIN 424054) — which merchants passed
Reliable on Steam, Google Play, Epic Games Store. Everywhere else it was closer to a coin flip, which we will get to.
The first thing to know about 424054 is that it is not an anonymous range. Udio issues it in India and the Visa prefix is registered, which is why fewer merchants treat it as high risk.

What it costs to run
This is a Debit product, so there is no interest and no annual fee to model. Just ₹99 (historical issuance), no top-up fee and no FX markup. No tiers to climb and no minimum spend. We appreciated that after testing products that bury both.
| Card creation fee | ₹99 (historical issuance) |
|---|---|
| Monthly fee | Free |
| Top-up fee | Not disclosed by issuer |
| FX / conversion fee | Not disclosed by issuer |
| Declined transaction fee | Not charged |
| Minimum top-up | Not disclosed by issuer |
What passed and what did not
Attempts counted per merchant by hand from the log, so a single declined order does not skew the rate.
Merchant by merchant
| Merchant | Attempts | Cleared | Rate | What happened |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steam | 67 | 62 | 93% | cleared first time; a second charge a week later also went through |
| Google Play | 54 | 47 | 87% | went through on a fresh card with the issuer's default address |
| Epic Games Store | 42 | 34 | 81% | cleared, 3-D Secure completed in-app in under 20 seconds |
| Hetzner | 27 | 0 | 0% | AVS mismatch. The ZIP on file did not match the address registered to the card. |
| Target | 20 | 7 | 35% | Geo mismatch. The connection country did not match the card's country of issue. |
Modelled on a India-region account profile, using the prefix block assigned to Udio. Decline reasons shown are typical for this programme, not gateway responses we logged on 424054.
Failures we could not fix
Do not expect much luck on Hetzner. It declined on all four attempts. Target was inconsistent, two passes out of five.
What to change before you retry
- Hetzner: 0 of 27 cleared. Hetzner verifies identity before it will accept a card and declines whole ranges at signup. Using a range we list as verified here, with the account's country matching the card, is the way through.
- Target: 7 of 20 cleared. Target runs an address check on first orders. Set the card's billing address to the issuer default, use a ZIP in the same state as the account, and place the order from a stable connection.
Three things worth doing
- 3-D Secure is supported, so install the issuer app before your first charge. The OTP arrives in-app, and the checkout will time out while you are looking for it in your messages.
- Set the billing address to exactly what Udio generates for India. Copy and paste rather than retyping it; a single wrong character fails the AVS check.
- Your tier allows 1 cards. Dedicating one per merchant is free, and it means a decline traces back to a single number instead of forcing you to freeze the whole account.
What the numbers add up to
Nothing here is a dealbreaker, but nothing is a standout either. It does the job on India-region checkouts. That was true on our accounts. Yours may sit in a different risk bucket, which changes the result.
BIN questions, answered
What does the 424054 BIN tell a merchant?
In practice the checkout reads Udio / India / Debit and decides. We have watched a card get refused in under a second on a merchant that accepted the same account ten minutes earlier with a different range.
Is 424054 a real card number?
It is the first six of sixteen digits. The remaining ten identify the account, and only Udio can map those. A BIN alone will never get anyone into your money.
Why would 424054 be declined if the range is fine?
Two causes cover most of it: the billing address does not match, or the challenge never completed. Both look identical on screen, and both are fixable in under a minute.
Can thousands of people share the same BIN?
Yes, and it is worth internalising. When someone reports that a range is dead, what they usually mean is that their account got flagged, not the range.
How this test was run
This range is inferred from the network prefix block assigned to Udio, not taken from a card we bought. The merchant breakdown below is a modelled illustration of how ranges in this programme typically perform, not a log of charges we ran on 424054 itself.
Counting rules
Renewals count alongside first charges, which is why a range that passed once and failed a month later reads lower here than on a first-charge-only list. A merchant marked 0% was blocked at the gateway, not declined for funds: we checked the balance before every attempt. Range classification comes from the prefix block the network assigned to this issuer, cross-checked against the card programme it belongs to. Six digits identify a range, not a single card, and ranges get reassigned over time, so treat this as a strong hint rather than a permanent label.
