Best Ireland virtual credit cards for international shopping
24 of the 323 card ranges we track are issued here. We charged every one of them at live checkouts, kept the 10 issuers worth using, and listed what each one costs to run.
Zebec Carbon is the default pick: free to create, no top-up fee, No KYC at signup. Crypto funding keeps the top-up cost predictable. Pyra Card is the fallback if a merchant blocks the first range (free to create).

Methodology: 5,342 live checkout attempts were run against these ranges in September 2026. The order below comes from that test data.
Filling the billing address (AVS)
- None of the 10 cards above let you choose an arbitrary billing address. Each issuer generates one, and the gateway checks your entry against that exact string.
- Paste the address from the issuer dashboard instead of retyping it. AVS compares the street number and the ZIP first, and a transposed digit is the most common reason these ranges fail.
- If a Ireland range is refused, move to another range below rather than retrying the same card. Repeat attempts on one BIN are what trigger issuer-side blocks.
What to know before you pick
Irish-issued cards follow the same PSD2 rulebook as the rest of the EEA. Approvals run through the issuer's app, and a first charge sometimes lands before the OTP screen shows up, then reverses.
Dublin is a common licence home for EMI issuers that want EU passporting without a bank charter. The ranges we track clear euro checkouts cleanly and add an FX step on anything billed in dollars.
24 of our 323 tracked ranges are Ireland-issued; the cards behind them run mostly on 6 Visa, 4 Mastercard.
The local mechanics that matter
- If Zebec Carbon gets refused somewhere, Pyra Card is the fallback. It is free to open and asks for ID + proof at signup, so the two cover different risk appetites.
- Risevest carries a 1-dollar monthly fee, which flips the math if the card sits idle between purchases.
Where these cards clear checkouts
Checkouts where at least one Ireland-issued card carries a positive flag in our tests. The count is the same hit set the checkout guides use, so the numbers match both sides:
BIN ranges issued in Ireland
Each range has its own page with test counts and decline reasons. If one merchant blocks your range, move to another rather than retrying the same one.
Head to heads involving these cards
What changed in the September 2026 pass
This guide is rebuilt from live test runs, so the numbers move when a range starts declining or an issuer changes its pricing. The review log reflects the current pass:
- 24 Ireland ranges tracked, 5,342 checkout attempts logged in this pass.
- No products were retired from this table this pass.
- Ranked issuers: 10.
Questions we get asked
Zebec Carbon is the strongest all-rounder among the 10 Ireland-issued cards we track, at 8.6 out of 10. The full list is the table above: sorted on fees, how reliably each card cleared live charges, and how much verification it demands.
None of the 10 cards let you pick an arbitrary address. Each one generates its own and the AVS check expects that exact string, so copy it rather than retyping it.
Creation fees run from 0 to 1 USD across the table, with a flat 0.5% top-up on every load. The fee that actually compounds is the top-up percentage, because you pay it every time you reload. A free top-up beats a cheaper one-off fee once the card survives past the first month.
3 of the 10 cards above are listed as No KYC: Zebec Carbon, Getsby, Kripi. They work, but they decline more often and their fees run worse than an issuer that takes an ID.
