Virtual Credit Cards That Work on Google Ads
Cheapest way in is Revolut, Genome, Halocard. That is also the order we would try them in.
The decline you are seeing on Google Ads is a card-range problem, not a balance problem. 21 cards tested this month, 10 usable.
Why Google Ads turns your card down
A card picked at random off a marketplace will fail Google Ads roughly half the time. The BIN range matters more than the balance sitting on the card.

The three we would actually use
- We had Revolut fail once, on a Sunday, then succeed on the retry. Worth knowing before you write it off.
- Genome is the cheapest route we found: Virtual card 1 EUR (first 10); 10 EUR f… to issue, Non-Genome card top-up 3%… on funding, and it cleared on the first attempt.
- Halocard: Essential 3 cards $12/mo; Pro 12 cards… to open, 1% (stablecoin/credit car… to fund. Boring, cheap, and it passed every retry we threw at it.
Paying Google Ads with a virtual card, start to finish
-
1
Open the account
All 3 ask for an ID before the first card exists. The check is automated and usually clears in minutes. Turn on 2FA before you fund anything.
-
2
Load a small balance
Two ways in: crypto, which is instant, or a bank transfer, which is cheaper and slower. Start with a single month and see it clear.
-
3
Create the card
Spend thirty seconds on a spend limit and, if the issuer offers it, lock the card to one merchant. Both are free and both save a cleanup later.
-
4
Enter the details at checkout
There is an address check. Revolut issues a Global address. Paste that one, because AVS fails on a single wrong character.
-
5
Clear 3-D Secure
Approve the prompt in the issuer app, then go back and confirm the plan actually shows as active. A subscription can look paid and still be sitting in pending for an hour.
If it still will not go through
Between them these cover almost every failed attempt we have logged.
- Billing address mismatch (Revolut issues a Global address). AVS compares what you type against the address on file, and it fails on a single transposed digit. Paste it instead of retyping.
- Debit range, credit-only acquirer. A handful of processors refuse debit BINs outright, before any balance check runs. Try a credit range from the table.
- Monthly cap reached. Cards with a hard monthly limit decline once it is used up, and the message the merchant shows is identical to a fraud block.
- Merchant switched acquirer. When a platform changes processor, ranges that cleared last month start failing with nothing changed on your side. Re-run the card before assuming it is dead.
- Spend limit too tight. If the cap sits below the plan price plus the conversion spread, the authorisation comes back as insufficient rather than blocked.
BIN ranges worth trying on Google Ads
Each range has its own issuer, country and card type. If a merchant blocks one, move to another rather than retrying.
Where these cards are issued
Issuing country matters as much as the brand here. Where one region is refused, another is often accepted, so these pages group what we have tested by where the card was issued.

Questions we get asked
Will a virtual card actually work on Google Ads?
Yes. Of the 21 cards we put at it in September, 10 cleared. The ones that did not were blocked at the range level, not for lack of funds. 71 issuers we track carry a positive flag here.
Why is my normal bank card declined by Google Ads?
Your bank is not rejecting anything. Google Ads uses an overseas acquirer that screens the card's country against your account region up front. The charge is dropped before it reaches your bank, which is why there is no alert to appeal.
Which one is cheapest for Google Ads?
On our numbers Revolut leads at 9.5 out of 10. The rest is down to top-up cost: waived top-up fees matter more than a lower issuance fee once you are past month one.
Can I use a card with no KYC for Google Ads?
2 of the 10 cards above are listed as No KYC: Pikabao, VCard. They work, but they decline more often and the fees are worse than an issuer that takes an ID.
What does Google Ads cost in total?
Three things add up: the one-off card fee, a top-up fee each time you fund, and the Google Ads plan itself. On this page 5 of the 10 cards cost nothing to create. Spend limits and freezing are free everywhere.
Do I have to keep the card open between Google Ads renewals?
It is easier to leave it open, or frozen, than to close it. Closing cannot be undone, and a lapsed renewal is usually more hassle than the card sitting idle.
How we test
21 cards went through a live Google Ads checkout on a real account, and one only counts if the first charge clears and the renewal four weeks later clears too. Cards that pass the trial then fail on renewal get marked down rather than dropped. Fees come from the issuers' own pricing pages, re-checked monthly, and converted at the rate on the verification date when they are not in USD. The full protocol, including how we log declines, is on the methodology page.
