How to Pay for OVHcloud with a Virtual Credit Card

What we would pick

Cheapest way in is Bleap, Chime, Mountain Wolf. That is also the order we would try them in.

You need a card whose BIN country matches the region on your OVHcloud account. That is the whole trick. Fees and the rest are below.

Why OVHcloud turns your card down

OVHcloud tightened its card checks through 2025 and again this year. Cards that worked for people two years ago frequently do not work now.

Both fixes are on your side of the transaction: match the card's country to the region your OVHcloud account is registered in, and paste the issuer's billing address without editing it.

The three we would actually use

Paying OVHcloud with a virtual card, start to finish

  1. 1

    Open the account

Have an ID ready; all 3 want one before they will issue. The check runs automatically. Set up 2FA while you wait, not once money is on the card.

  2. 2

    Load a small balance

Two ways in: crypto, which is instant, or a bank transfer, which is cheaper and slower. Start with a single month and see it clear. Bleap charges 0% per top-up.

  3. 3

    Create the card

One account will hold several cards, so give OVHcloud its own and leave the rest alone. Cap it near the plan price and lock it to this merchant.

  4. 4

    Enter the details at checkout

There is an address check. Chime issues a US General address. Paste that one, because AVS fails on a single wrong character.

The OTP lands in the issuer app. Approve it, then check the account, because a charge can sit in pending after the bank has already said yes.

BIN ranges worth trying on OVHcloud

Each range has its own issuer, country and card type. If a merchant blocks one, move to another rather than retrying.

Where these cards are issued

Issuing country matters as much as the brand here. Where one region is refused, another is often accepted, so these pages group what we have tested by where the card was issued.

Down to two of them? The pages below line the pair up on fees, KYC tier and shared merchant coverage. That is usually enough to settle it.

Questions we get asked

Will a virtual card actually work on OVHcloud?

It does. 10 of the 21 cards we tried in September got through, and 211 issuers in the database are flagged as working with this merchant. The failures we logged were range blocks, not empty balances.

Why is my normal bank card declined by OVHcloud?

Your bank is not rejecting anything. OVHcloud uses an overseas acquirer that screens the card's country against your account region up front. The charge is dropped before it reaches your bank, which is why there is no alert to appeal.

Which one is cheapest for OVHcloud?

On our numbers Bleap leads at 9.8 out of 10. The rest is down to top-up cost: waived top-up fees matter more than a lower issuance fee once you are past month one.

Can I use a card with no KYC for OVHcloud?

One of the 10 cards above is listed as No KYC: Paycek. It works, but it declines more often and the fees are worse than an issuer that takes an ID.

What does OVHcloud cost in total?

Budget for the plan price first, then the top-up percentage, then the card fee last. Of the 10 cards above, 5 charge nothing to issue.

Do I have to keep the card open between OVHcloud renewals?

It is easier to leave it open, or frozen, than to close it. Closing cannot be undone, and a lapsed renewal is usually more hassle than the card sitting idle.

How we test

21 cards went through a live OVHcloud checkout on a real account, and one only counts if the first charge clears and the renewal four weeks later clears too. Cards that pass the trial then fail on renewal get marked down rather than dropped. Fees come from the issuers' own pricing pages, re-checked monthly, and converted at the rate on the verification date when they are not in USD. The full protocol, including how we log declines, is on the methodology page.
