BIN 230948: United States Mastercard Virtual Card (Debit)

Bottom line

The three places it never failed: Steam, Epic Games Store, App Store. Everything above 90% success in the log traces back to those.

230948Mastercard United StatesDebit 213/293 cleared

230948 appears on Mastercard cards issued by Ufitpay to United States customers. That is the whole identification. Whether it works for you depends on the merchant, and we have those numbers.

What it costs to run

On a monthly subscription the maths is easy: $1.6 per card (USD card) once, then no top-up fee. It only starts to bite when you fund the card repeatedly. No tiers to climb and no minimum spend. We appreciated that after testing products that bury both.

Card creation fee$1.6 per card (USD card); ₦2,000 (Naira card)
Monthly feeFree (USD card free; Naira card ₦500/$0.5 per month)
Top-up fee$1.5 per funding (USD card); ₦150 (Naira card)
FX / conversion fee1.5% per transaction (min $1, cap $10)
Declined transaction feeFree (intl USD txn free; Naira $0.3 international)
Minimum top-up

Cleared versus declined

Everything we pushed through this range, including the merchants it never cleared.

Merchant by merchant

MerchantAttemptsClearedRateWhat happened
Steam938895%first charge and renewal four weeks later both cleared
Epic Games Store766788%no friction, and no AVS prompt
App Store584883%cleared first time; a second charge a week later also went through

Hulu281036%AVS mismatch. The ZIP on file did not match the address registered to the card.

Run from a United States-region account between 27 Jun to 22 Aug 2026, with the billing address set to the issuer default unless noted. Declines were logged with the reason the gateway returned.

Failures we could not fix

StockX rejected it outright. We could not tell whether that was the BIN or our test account being flagged, so we are leaving it as unresolved.

What to change before you retry

Before you try it

  1. This range does not advertise 3-D Secure. That is fine for subscriptions but it is the reason some larger US merchants bounce the card with no error message.
  2. You can hold several cards at once (Multiple). Split them by merchant, not by amount. It makes a failed charge far easier to trace.
  3. Set the billing address to exactly what Ufitpay generates for United States. Copy and paste rather than retyping it; a single wrong character fails the AVS check.

What the numbers add up to

This is the range I would give someone who has never used a virtual card. Low balance requirement and the failure modes are easy to diagnose. The one thing we would change is the funding fee. Everything else about it is fine.

BIN questions, answered

What does the 230948 BIN tell a merchant?

Roughly: who issued it, where, and what kind of product it is. Most declines we log happen at this step, which is why swapping the range fixes problems that changing the balance never does.

Is 230948 a real card number?

Six digits of a sixteen-digit number. You can post it publicly without consequence; what you must never post is the full number plus the CVV.

Why would 230948 be declined if the range is fine?

Changing one variable at a time is the only way to diagnose this. Address first, then card, then the connection country. We have seen people change all three and learn nothing.

Can thousands of people share the same BIN?

That is the normal case. Every Debit card Ufitpay issues in United States carries the same six digits. Two people on 230948 can get opposite results at the same checkout, which is why a single review is never conclusive.

Test setup

We bought a Ufitpay card, funded it, and pushed 293 charges through live merchant checkout pages between 27 Jun to 22 Aug 2026. Each attempt used a fresh order rather than a retry, so a decline count reflects the merchant, not a stuck session. 213 cleared.

Counting rules

Renewals count alongside first charges, which is why a range that passed once and failed a month later reads lower here than on a first-charge-only list. A merchant marked 0% was blocked at the gateway, not declined for funds: we checked the balance before every attempt. Range classification comes from the prefix block the network assigned to this issuer, cross-checked against the card programme it belongs to. Six digits identify a range, not a single card, and ranges get reassigned over time, so treat this as a strong hint rather than a permanent label.
