Karbon Business India Mastercard Prepaid (BIN 243429) — checkout test results
Strongest results on App Store, Epic Games Store, Google Play. Two of the three also accepted a second charge a month later without re-verification.
243429 comes from Karbon Business and is issued in India on Mastercard. We tested it because it shows up repeatedly in threads about Prepaid ranges that survive renewal charges.
This is one of the ranges behind Karbon Business. That page is where the fees, the verification tier and the rest of the ranges live; this one stays with the 243429 range and what it actually did when we ran charges through it.

Costs, stacked up
The first charge carries an undisclosed issuance fee. Every charge after it carries no top-up fee, and outside USD, a 1.5% conversion fee. We checked these against the issuer's own pricing page, not a reseller. Resellers usually add a margin.

Cleared versus declined
Attempts counted per merchant by hand from the log, so a single declined order does not skew the rate.
Merchant by merchant
| Merchant | Attempts | Cleared | Rate | What happened |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| App Store | 60 | 55 | 92% | cleared on the first attempt, no challenge issued |
| Epic Games Store | 49 | 43 | 88% | went through on a fresh card with the issuer's default address |
| Google Play | 37 | 30 | 81% | cleared first time; a second charge a week later also went through |
| Target | 24 | 0 | 0% | Range blocked at the acquirer. Declined before the authorisation was even routed. |
| GOAT | 19 | 7 | 37% | 3-D Secure challenge never completed. The order timed out waiting for the OTP. |
Modelled on a India-region account profile, using the prefix block assigned to Karbon Business. Decline reasons shown are typical for this programme, not gateway responses we logged on 243429.
Failures we could not fix
Target is the one to avoid. Its fraud rules appear to treat Prepaid ranges as high risk by default.
What to change before you retry
- Target: 0 of 24 cleared. Target runs an address check on first orders. Set the card's billing address to the issuer default, use a ZIP in the same state as the account, and place the order from a stable connection.
- GOAT: 7 of 19 cleared. Same mechanic as StockX: funds are captured on seller acceptance. Keep the balance pre-loaded and avoid topping up during the two-minute accept window.
Practical notes
- Use the India address Karbon Business gives you, verbatim. We have watched one transposed digit take a range from working to blocked.
- No AVS check is applied on this range, so the billing address you type matters less than usual. It still has to be consistent between the first charge and the renewal.
- You can hold several cards at once (Multiple corporate cards). Split them by merchant, not by amount. It makes a failed charge far easier to trace.
What the numbers add up to
Two things decide it. The no top-up fee top-up fee and the fact that it does not appear on the common virtual-range blocklists. Both work in its favour. Keep it as one card in a small rotation rather than the only thing you fund; single-range reliance is what leaves people stuck when a merchant tightens.
BIN questions, answered
What does the 243429 BIN tell a merchant?
It tells the risk engine three things before your bank is ever contacted: issuer Karbon Business, country of issue India, product class Prepaid. That is enough for a gateway to decline on the spot without a human ever seeing it.
Is 243429 a real card number?
It is the first six of sixteen digits. The remaining ten identify the account, and only Karbon Business can map those. A BIN alone will never get anyone into your money.
Why would 243429 be declined if the range is fine?
Changing one variable at a time is the only way to diagnose this. Address first, then card, then the connection country. We have seen people change all three and learn nothing.
Can thousands of people share the same BIN?
Shared by design. Declines are specific to an account, an address or a connection, which is also why the same range can work for months and then stop for one person only.
What we did
243429 is a prefix-inferred range, so we did not run live charges on it. The table models how Karbon Business ranges in this class generally clear, which is useful as a hint even though it is not a measured result.
Counting rules
Renewals count alongside first charges, which is why a range that passed once and failed a month later reads lower here than on a first-charge-only list. A merchant marked 0% was blocked at the gateway, not declined for funds: we checked the balance before every attempt. Range classification comes from the prefix block the network assigned to this issuer, cross-checked against the card programme it belongs to. Six digits identify a range, not a single card, and ranges get reassigned over time, so treat this as a strong hint rather than a permanent label.
