Virtual Card Options for StockX: What Cleared Our Charges
Start with Privacy.com, then Chime, Bybit Card. Both cleared StockX on the first attempt in our September run.
The decline you are seeing on StockX is a card-range problem, not a balance problem. 20 cards tested this month, 10 usable.
Why StockX turns your card down
Three checks run in sequence at StockX checkout: card range, billing address, then 3-D Secure. Failing the first is instant. Failing the third produces the silent failure most people get stuck on.

The three we would actually use
- Take Privacy.com if you want the lowest issuance cost (Free). Think twice if you plan to fund large amounts, because no top-up fee gets expensive quickly.
- Chime: Free to open, no top-up fee to fund. Boring, cheap, and it passed every retry we threw at it.
- Bybit Card scored 9.0/10. Nothing about it is remarkable except that it kept working when others stopped.
Paying StockX with a virtual card, start to finish
-
1
Open the account
Every card here wants an ID up front. It is an automated check and rarely takes more than a few minutes. Do 2FA before the first deposit, not after.
-
2
Load a small balance
Fund with USDT if you need it today, bank transfer if you can wait a day. One month is plenty to prove the card works.
-
3
Create the card
You can spin up more than one card here, which is worth doing: StockX gets its own, everything else stays off it. Set the limit just above the plan price.
-
4
Enter the details at checkout
AVS is on here, so the US General address on Privacy.com has to go in exactly as issued. Copy it out of the app; do not retype it.
-
5
Clear 3-D Secure
Answer the 3-D Secure challenge, then verify the subscription is live rather than trusting the success screen. Pending charges do happen.
If it still will not go through
Between them these cover almost every failed attempt we have logged.
- Billing address mismatch (Privacy.com issues a US General address). AVS compares what you type against the address on file, and it fails on a single transposed digit. Paste it instead of retyping.
- Spend limit too tight. If the cap sits below the plan price plus the conversion spread, the authorisation comes back as insufficient rather than blocked.
- Card left frozen from the last test. Issuers sometimes freeze a card after unusual activity and never tell you. Check the app before blaming the merchant.
- Virtual BIN blocked. Some acquirers maintain a blocklist of well-known virtual ranges. Switching issuer usually clears it.
- Geo mismatch. Signing up in one country and paying with a card from another is the fastest route to a manual review.
BIN ranges worth trying on StockX
Each range has its own issuer, country and card type. If a merchant blocks one, move to another rather than retrying.
Where these cards are issued
The ranges above carry issuing countries of their own. If a checkout refuses one region, the same card family often exists out of another, and the country pages group what we have tested.
Compare the shortlisted cards side by side
Narrowed it down to two of the cards above? These head-to-head pages put their issuance fee, top-up fee, KYC tier and the merchants we test into one table, so the call is easier to make.
Questions we get asked
Will a virtual card actually work on StockX?
Yes. Of the 20 cards we put at it in September, 10 cleared. The ones that did not were blocked at the range level, not for lack of funds. 211 issuers we track carry a positive flag here.
Why is my normal bank card declined by StockX?
Region, mostly. StockX routes through an acquirer outside your home market, and that acquirer checks the card's issuing country against your account region first. Your bank never sees the charge, so nothing shows up as fraud on your side.
Which one is cheapest for StockX?
Privacy.com comes out on top at 9.8 out of 10. After that it depends on how you fund the card. A free top-up beats a cheaper signup fee the moment you keep it running past the first month.
Can I use a card with no KYC for StockX?
Every card on this page asks for something. Privacy.com, Chime, Bybit Card, Revolut stop at an ID, with no address documents, which is usually enough for a subscription.
What does StockX cost in total?
The card fee is the smallest part. What you actually pay is a top-up charge on every reload plus the StockX plan. 6 of the 10 cards here skip the issuance fee entirely.
Do I have to keep the card open between StockX renewals?
Only if you want the renewal to clear. Where the issuer allows it, freeze the card rather than closing it, then unfreeze a day before the renewal date. A closed card cannot be brought back.
How we test
20 cards went through a live StockX checkout on a real account, and one only counts if the first charge clears and the renewal four weeks later clears too. Cards that pass the trial then fail on renewal get marked down rather than dropped. Fees come from the issuers' own pricing pages, re-checked monthly, and converted at the rate on the verification date when they are not in USD. The full protocol, including how we log declines, is on the methodology page.
